Random Thoughts By Laura.

I recently purchased 2 Ballet Beautiful DVDs from Amazon.com Mary Helen Bowers makes Jillian Michaels 30 day shred feel like mere child's play. I just got whipped by a 1 hour workout that left me literally crawling. You can read all about it HERE.

It is such a strange and accomplished feeling to know that after 5 years of serious searching and almost 9 years of dissatisfaction we finally have our new (actually old) dining table and chairs. The table was made in 1963! I'm not exactly sure about the age of the chairs but I'm sure they are older than I am.

I decided on lace curtains for our living/dining room (they are adjoined.) I had 3 windows to cover, one of which was a large "picture window." I looked several places around town and even the fabric store considering making them myself if it wasn't too costly. I couldn't find anything until I went to Ollies. I didn't want the curtains to be gathered or full looking so I purchased one panel for each of the regular sized windows and two for the large one. The four panels($10 each) cost me about $40 total. Not bad! We also installed white light filtering roller shades in all of the windows for privacy at night. During the day I can roll up the shades and the curtains remain closed allowing light to bathe the room. We can see out but you can't see in. The "lace" that I chose is very simple without any floral element, which I was trying to avoid. Its amazing how much a small change like that can do for a space. Despite the fact that there is now more furniture than ever before in that room it feels larger because of the bright white airy-ness of the new curtains. I will take some photos of them soon.

I cannot wait to banish our old TV stand, and old table and 4 chairs from my property. If my husband were more willing to just let go of things this would be easy. Its kind of driving me up a wall.

Seventh Generation All purpose disinfecting cleaner claims it kills 99.9% of bacteria. HERE it is read all about it. It seems to work great only problem is its unusual smell. Its not necessarily bad just..idk different. I was expecting a fragrance or something.

I made homemade ice cream for the first time yesterday. Thank you mom!!! :D I need to tweak the recipe I used and experiment with some other ones this summer. Its delicious except that I am pretty sure that I am eating frozen butter....haha!

There is a gaudy, unattractive, "high end" bedroom suite for sale at my local Goodwill thrift store for $3,000. Yep. THERE IS NOTHING THRIFTY ABOUT THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Ridiculous. I really don't have any more to say about that!!!

Today two people at a thrift store thought I was in High School. I was wearing my old cross country hoodie and no makeup. I guess this is a good thing, right? Yes....no.....I don't know!

There are 3 things I have majorly been slacking off on the last several weeks. Exercise, water intake and sleep. And those are some serious, serious elements that one can't afford to be neglecting.

Apparently winter has returned. Which really is unpleasant and bad timing...considering I have tons of projects to do in which my presence outdoors is absolutely necessary. Here is my "to do" list in order of priority.
  • Refinish/restore my 8 fiberglass chairs and frames.
  • Refinish dining table
  • Move sofa to upholstery classroom/shop
  • strip and paint Hannah's dresser
Well now is my chance to get some rest! Have a great night/day my blog friends :)
